About Me

I am a mother of two children. Motherhood has certainly not been how I envisaged it to be. Perhaps people who know me personally wouldn't be surprised.

When I first become pregnant, I went beyond your usual stack of parenting and pregnancy books. I started a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and became certified as a Health Coach by Dr Sears... all because I wanted to know HOW to be the best mother I can be.

But you see, as with life, there is never a manual that covers it all. There are always curveballs, new challenges in parenthood that you never anticipate.

I couldn't find a school that was satisfactory and went to the extreme measure of setting up one. I just wanted my children to have an excellent academic foundation, but still have the room for creativity, imagination and play. I want them to eat wholesome food specially designed for optimal growth and development. Most schools in Malaysia serve junk food and that is not acceptable in my opinion. I was surprised to find that many parents echoed my sentiments.

I now have one of the most awesome jobs. I work with young children - I nurture them and help maximise their potentials. I am with my children 24/7 and get to witness every moment while they are growing up. I have parents who travel from afar to send their children to me because I love working with them to correct behavioral issues. I love doing what I do. This is the adrenaline high that teachers and mothers have in common.

When I first became a mother, I thought the choices we made as parents reveal the person we want to be. There are so many things I want to make sure 'I am doing right' and possibly fall into the trap of over-analysing.

My children make me realise that the most important thing I can do is be present with them and enjoy the moment. Because in a blink, they are all grown up.
